What an incredible journey a year of hosting beach cleanups has been. March 26th marks our first anniversary and 10th beach cleanup. We started the day off with a goal of collecting 105 lbs of trash. Groups that attended were CSUF Student Veteran Association (SVA), CSUF Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG), GWC Sigma Pi Chapter, and individuals that span from Victorville, Los Angeles, and San Diego. The SVA and Community Services from CSUF donated a superb lunch for all our volunteers. Everyone worked extremely hard to exceed our goal and collected 135.5 lbs of trash! After we collected our surveys, we found 181 Plastic Bottles, 290 Cigarettes, and 825 Bottle Caps. Other items included needles, condoms, straws, and rusted nails. We want to thank the 60 volunteers that came out today to attack plastic pollution and protect our beaches, children, and marine life from all the harmful trash. Our Veterans played a huge role in getting a lot of volunteers together, and we want to thank them for their duty and support. God Bless America!
