I created Coastal Angels in March of 2015. I became aware of plastic pollution on Southern California's beaches and was also inspired by a documentary titled, Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. I began thinking of how I could help make a difference in the environment and decided that hosting beach cleanups with my friends and family would be a good foundation.

On Saturday, February 27, 2016 Coastal Angels hosted their 9th Beach Cleanup at Bolsa Chica State Beach. California State University, Fullerton Softball Club, Garden Grove High School Environmental Club, and our family from Victorville all helped collect more than 103 lbs of trash!

Coastal Angels Celebrates First Anniversary

Coastal Angels is celebrating their first anniversary and 10th beach cleanup on March 26, 2016. 

On March 25, 2015 Jacqueline Winberg created the group Coastal Angels. What was the trigger? The movie, “Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch,” directed and written by Angela Sun. It revolutionized Saturdays for Jacqueline, her husband Robert, and friend Meghan.
